Day Services are provided to service users in a number of locations. Day Services endeavours to provide the type and range of supports that people with intellectual disability require in relation to work, education and leisure as identified with each person in their Person-Centred Plan. Day Services also provide opportunities to maximise self-development, equal opportunities for personal growth and commitment to unconditional access to mainstream community life with support in natural settings with other people. As far as possible, services will be user-led. The majority of people who use the day services are being supported outside the centre most of the time. Services and staff support will be individualized and flexible to ensure quality rather than quantity.
The Day Service teams strive to ensure that each person (irrespective of level of ability) will be given the appropriate supports to access work/education and leisure opportunities in the community as identified through their Person-Centred Plan.
