We Value Your Time!

Avista Volunteers support many projects and people at various locations across Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary/Offaly. From music sessions to card playing, DIY gardening to the simple pleasure a cup of tea and a chat. All skills, talents and ideas are welcomed.

Why volunteer with us?

Volunteers are involved in all aspects of our work at Avista. We believe that everybody has something to give, no qualifications are needed, just a willingness to commit some precious time and a desire to get involved and have fun.

Avista volunteers give their time for a wide range of reasons including:

  • An interest in contributing to their local community
  • Personal experience of supporting someone with a disability
  • A desire to meet new people and make life long friendships
  • The opportunity to develop new skills or showcase talents.

How much time do I have to give?

The time required as a volunteer is very flexible. From 1- 2 hours per week or 2 hours per month, we will work with you and the people and/or project you are supporting to determine the time required.

Where can I volunteer?

We have a wide range of opportunities in Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary/Offaly.

We also have virtual opportunities available for people to work alongside our Avista E-Hub.

Do I receive training?

In order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people we support – all Avista volunteers are trained and vetted in accordance with the volunteer role for which they have applied for. Our Volunteer Leads are on hand to help make this process as easy as possible.

Testimonial

I volunteer in Avista once a week. It is a pleasure spending time with the group in the gardens. It gives me great pride to be referred to as an Avista volunteer
